I-O Application Discussion

You have been introduced to I-O Psychology, a fascinating and highly applicable subfield of psychology.

Given the recent adjustments that we’ve all had to make to our school and/or workplace because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is expected that we will see a growing body of research related to workplace and its wide-ranging related topics.

For this last discussion, you will answer the question below in 300-500 words.

QuestionWhich of the broad areas of I-O psychology interests you the most and why?

To earn full credit, you’ll need to:

  1. Clearly explain what makes this area of interest more appealing than the others.
  2. List 2-3 specific questions of research for this area of interest?
  3. How do you suspect this area of interest will contribute to improving the post-pandemic workplace in your field of interest. In other words, how do you think the career you’re studying for will be impacted by this area of interest. For example, will clinical psychologists see a significant increase in telehealth (seeing clients via web conference).
    1. List two pros and two cons about the possible changes.

To keep your discussion post organized, please answer each question in separate paragraphs.

Lastly, please be sure to stick to your area of interest. For example, if you picked Industrial, you shouldn’t be discussing leadership styles or lighting and acoustic designs in the workplace. Doing so will result in a loss of points.
