Your paper will include how the theories introduced by Jeffrey Nealon and Susan Searls Giroux in their book The Theory Toolbox: Critical Concept for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences apply either to another text we have read, or to a real world circumstance. You must quote from Toolbox. Your argument or thesis will include not just an explanation of the theory driving your paper, but will also explain what that theory looks like when put next to another’s work or a real life situation. This paper is a question of your understanding of a point of critical theory. What do you think Nealon and Giroux’s point is regarding the canon?
