Using evidence from the women in international politics module, first consider Hillary Clinton’s famous argument raised at the UN’s Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995 that, “human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights once and for all.” Additionally, think about the impact of the #metoo movement. Next, raise your own critical argument, while also engaging the material from the course, about what ways the role of women in international politics shapes/impacts/changes the human rights discourse surrounding women and gender issues.
Include in your own argument the various positions (minimum of two) in the international or U.S. community about political representation and female agency. Choose which argument resonates the most and explain why you believe the argument you chose is the strongest (this part is subjective and should include your own ideas as informed by the material in the course). You must incorporate at least 3 scholarly articles and/or books and two news articles in your outline and presentation. Along with the 4-5 minute video submission, an essay of 3-6 pages (750-1500 words), including a works cited page, must also be turned in Videos will be graded via a rubric (include citations from your sources, etc.) This project is worth 130 points; The paper is worth 70 points; the presentation is worth 30 points.
